Stephen Hoover is a Ph.D. candidate in Complex Systems and Brain Sciences at Florida Atlantic University. He is a member of the Machine Perception and Cognitive Robotics Laboratory, and he is an Artificial Intelligence Safety Fellow at Florida Atlantic University's Center for Future Mind.
Stephen's research focuses on developing algorithms that learn to achieve goals without causing catastrophic consequences. A majority of his work is about artificial intelligence safety, particularly alignment and control problems.
